Ouch, seriously, I’m very sorry about the poor poor lighting here.

Anyways! Early in the semester I got a nice black shirt with white embroidery, and needed something to complement the shirt. The result only took about….15mins to do, and has gotten a lot of nice compliments. 😀

Now for Something Completely Different April 5, 2007

Jewelry I’ve been meaning to post for months! 😀 We’ll start with this chick, but first, please excuse the lighting for the jewelry pics.

Some people like to name their creations, but guess I’m not that kind of person. This is made of pink glass beads, real amethyst chips, and fake pearls.

Pre-felted Striped Bag (WIP) April 5, 2007

Don’t you hate that when you’re finally able to finish a project, the seasons change and you don’t feel right actually using the item? I did this over my winter break, but since the internship started, I haven’t gotten around to finishing this and felting it. Now it’s spring, and this bag’s got dark colors, and….well, I’ll finish it but the bag will collect dust for awhile. ;(

Well, this was done in Patons SWS in Natural Earth, and woooow I love the feel of this stuff, but the yarn’s just kinda expensive. I finally got the last skein, and sure it’s another dye lot, but the only thing left to crochet is the handles.

Pattern was found at Christina’s Crochet Haven

It’s not a shower puff, but actually a flower, which the second picture is trying to show. Another stash busting project. The pattern came from here.

First Up: Little Ditty Bag April 5, 2007

This was made using leftovers from my still uncompleted pink afghan project, which I took a break from to conquer smaller crocheted items to get that ‘wow, I got something DONE’ feeling. This little bag currently resides on my bedroom doorknob, holding various small things.
The pattern comes from Dot’s website.

The End April 5, 2007

Wow, on the way home, I was thinking about how bittersweet today was. Y’see, it was my last day of the internship, and I had to say goodbye to everyone.. The ladies my teacher and I eat lunch with, the woman I did parent pickup with, and especially the kids… Some say the hardest part of being a teacher is dealing with the parents, but dunno, saying goodbye to the students was pretty tough.

These past couples days, I had to reduce my role from full-time intern to just an assistant, so that the students would have an easier time transitioning back to their teacher. I promised them I would come back and visit sometimes, and my teacher will be sending me a class picture when it comes in. Cleaning out my desk felt weird, packing away my belongings in my bag felt even weirder.

I’ll miss ’em all. ;(

Teaser
So I started this back in October, but this picture is here because its the only one I have of my current WIP. Right now, the afghan is a little over 4′ long. I’m hoping to add another foot or two to it, and perhaps experiment with some sort of edging, before giving it the FO title.

Some other things I’ve been considering…
Short & Sweet – Out of the Stitch ‘n Bitch Happy Hooker book, which Mum got me for Christmas. Hoping to do this in lavender.
Fat Bottom Bag – Another Happy Hooker project, and kinda addicting from what I heard.. )

And if my skills get better, down the road these projects would be cool to try..
White Shell Tunic Top – Pattern doesn’t say, but I betcha this is sports weight yarn, so I’d have to adjust to using thinner yarns. ;X But geez, what a beautiful top.
Daisy Skirt – Again, another sports weight project. But it’s pure prettyness.

Ok, that wasn’t much of an intro.. March 17, 2007

Heh, the first post here wasn’t quite the introduction it should’ve been.

So. Backtrack time.

My name’s Andrea, but sometimes I go by weird names like Andie and game names like Hesper. I like to consider myself a pretty optimistic/positive/realistic person, about 75% of the time. My time’s mainly spent doing my final teaching internship, and focus is on graduation this April. But when there is available free time, I spend it either crocheting, jewelry making, reading, or gaming.

This journal’s just full of blurbs that have no real importance whatsoever, however I do wish to post craft projects. So as this place starts to fill up, hope you start enjoying your stay.

..Makes writing a longer post impossible.

I’m just feeling so dead tonight, surfing the net for nothing in particular, getting nothing accomplished. Well, I might crochet my afghan a little, there’s a fresh new skein just waiting to be started soon.

…On second thought, I went on Morpheus to download some more mp3’s. Here’s the new additions.
Chris Daughtry – Its Not Over
Chris Daughtry – Gone
Nickelback – If Everyone Cared
Paul Oakenfold – Hypnotised
Tenth Planet – Ghosts (Vincent De Moor mix)
